4. Protocol Architecture
4.1 System Overview
The protocol consists of four layers. The ingestion layer consumes Robinhood Chain’s event stream in real time through the revived Faust engine. The classification layer runs six autonomous agents over that stream. The storage layer persists everything to a durable, append-only ledger and derived datasets. The access layer exposes the results through the FAUST terminal, a public API, MCP for trading agents, and the FAUSTeyes account.
4.2 The Ingestion Pipeline
Every block on Robinhood Chain (chain ID 4663) is decoded as it lands. Swap events are parsed from the pools and routers the pipeline recognizes, priced where a reliable quote leg exists, and attributed to wallets where the trader is a real externally owned account rather than a router or pool contract. The pipeline records every measurable swap with its true side, buy or sell, regardless of how the trade was routed. As of late July 2026, the archive holds over 405 million processed events, more than 8 million classified signals, and profiles on more than 1.5 million wallets, figures that grow every hour.
4.3 The Durable Swap Ledger
The center of the storage layer is an append-only swap ledger. Every recorded swap is written once, keyed by transaction hash and log index, and never modified or pruned. This is what makes FAUST’s numbers permanent: a closed measurement window is one number, forever. Compute the volume of a given hour today, recompute it in a year, and the result is identical to full precision. Windows that predate the ledger’s start return an explicit error rather than a silent zero, because a missing number stated honestly is worth more than a wrong number stated confidently.
4.4 Pricing Methodology
Swaps are valued in USD at the moment of the trade. Crypto-quoted pairs are priced from their quote leg. Stock-quoted pairs, the tokenized-equity pools of Section 7, are priced using Robinhood Chain’s own Chainlink oracle feeds at trade time, including corporate-action adjustments, so the recorded value reflects the real price of the underlying at the moment of the swap, not an estimate. Where no reliable price exists, the value is recorded as null with a reason. FAUST does not estimate, interpolate, or backfill prices it cannot source.
4.5 Coverage and Scope
FAUST publishes the scope of its own measurements. Indexed swap volume is the USD notional of swaps the engine decoded and priced; it is a subset of chain-wide DEX volume, not a measure of it, and the two are never presented as the same number. As of July 26, 2026, FAUST’s indexed swap volume covered roughly half of the chain-wide DEX volume published by third-party aggregators, a coverage figure that is itself published and updated. Every metric in the public API declares its source, its age, and its scope in the response itself.
